Beekeeper start-up business in Gugulethu

Concerned residents rapidly found each other and started mobilising to support vulnerable people in our neighbourhoods and our networks. Therefore the CAN (Cape Action Network) was formed. Areas around Cape Town were paired together, and Seaboard thus became the Gugulethu-Seaboard CAN.

Vuyo Myoli, a certified beekeeper in Gugulethu, has been working together with us since the beginning of lockdown. Vuyo is an amazing and talented individual, very motivated to mentor and nurture the Gugulethu community to learn the skill of beekeeping so that he can employ them in his business. And not to just make honey, but honey related products too, thereby creating more income opportunities for everyone involved.
