Becoming Future Fluent: Better Decisions in Turbulent Times
About this Event
Join us for the Lakeshore edition of Becoming Future Fluent.
A full-day, in-person strategic foresight workshop for leaders guiding their teams and organizations through challenging times. We can't predict the future, but we can practice for it.
Organizations are making big decisions based on a future nobody can predict. Foresight is a discipline you can learn, and the leaders who practice it are harder to surprise. In one hands-on day you'll work through six frameworks using your own real context, and leave with tools you can put to work right away.
What you'll learn
- The Futures Cone: map the full range of what could happen
- Trend Scanning + STEEP: spot weak signals before they become disruptions
- 2×2 Scenario Planning: build four plausible futures from two key uncertainties
- Backcasting: work backward from the future you want
- Trip Wires: pre-commit to the signals that should trigger action
- Futures Habits + Org Readiness: turn one day into a lasting practice
What you'll leave with
- Six frameworks, practiced on your own context
- A printed workbook
- A starter trend deck
- Framework reference guides
- A 30-day follow-up group Zoom with your cohort
