About this Event
Whether you have some experience speaking with journalists or you’re completely new to it, this training session will help you gain skills and confidence as a media spokesperson for your organisation.
We’re delighted to be joined by Helen Oldfield of , to lead us through this interactive workshop, where we will cover:
- Different interview formats (live, pre-record, expert comment, etc) and what journalists and producers are looking for
- How to prepare for broadcast (radio, TV and podcast) appearances
- How to be yourself and get your ideas across while being interviewed
- How to prepare for hostile press questioning
- Activity: planning for your interview
- Troubleshooting and Q&As
The session will run from 10am – 1.30pm with a short comfort break. Light lunch will be provided and you are welcome to bring snacks to eat whenever you need to. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
This training is for members of the NCAN Steering Group - each organisation has two places allocated on this training. There is a small cost per ticket to help bring down the overall cost of running the event.
