Join special guest Dr. Michael Bechtel, Associate Professor of Science Education at Wartburg College for a free hands-on educational program with live animals. Prior to teaching at Wartburg, Dr. Bechtel (Bec) was a high school science teacher for 20 years. He has always incorporated exotic animals in his classrooms-- everything from poison dart frogs to African spur thigh tortoises to Malaysian seramas (miniature chickens) to creating his own breed of mice. He'll be joining us to share his love of animal ecology and introduce some of his amazing creatures.
Session #1 is geared toward kids of all ages and families together (a second session at 5:30 pm will be geared toward school-aged kids and interested adults.)
This free program will be held in the large meeting room and offer mostly floor seating for kids, with limited chair seating for adults or those unable to sit on the floor.
