Beautifully Tangled is a new body of hyperrealist hair paintings by Queensland artist Rachel South, winner of the 2026 Moreton Bay Art Prize. The exhibition opens at Jan Manton Gallery, ArtSpace Teneriffe, on 31 August 2026.

Artist Talk: Saturday 5 September, 2:00 pm
Visitors can expect monumental canvases of luxurious coloured strands. Voluptuous and intimate up close, monstrous at scale. Works that ask what beauty means in an era when the synthetic feels more desirable than the real.
