The WorkshopYour tutor, Rachel, a local Artist and Feltmaker, is looking forward to meeting you and says: “Have a go at creating some of your own Christmas Tree Baubles or make them as a gift for someone during this half day Felt Workshop.
Your set of Felt Baubles will be made from wool fibres and felted by hand using the needle felting method. This is a dry felting process so no soap or water in this Felting Workshop! Whilst the baubles are three dimensional, I will also show you how to make 2D (flat) shapes.
Once the Bauble shape is formed, wool yarns are needle felted onto the Bauble surface to create your own Christmas motifs and a hanging cord is stitched in place as the finishing touch. I will guide you through the process, providing all materials and equipment needed for the Workshop. No experience necessary.”
What to bring?
Anticipation to enjoy the whole experience! Specific to this workshop: Reading glasses if you need them.
What skills are needed?
No experience is necessary. You will be using a needle, with an easy to hold wooden handle. You will need to concentrate and watch what you are doing to avoid pricking your fingers with the needle while you form your Bauble.
What are the timings?
This is a relaxed, morning running from 10am to 1pm.
Our purple front door will be open from 9.30am so we can welcome you in, you can get to meet Rachel and your fellow crafters and grab a drink before you start.
How many places are available?
To ensure the quality of your personal experience, the group size is limited to 8.
What is the cost?
£45 + 94p card fee. This includes all the materials needed to make your Christmas Baubles, mulled wine and mince pies during the morning (excluding lunch).
