BeatFreaq returns with a special February edition, and this one is for the heads.

We’re honored to welcome Supa Dave West, a legendary producer, drummer, and musician whose fingerprints are deeply embedded in the DNA of hip-hop, soul, and beyond. Supa Dave’s extensive beat catalog and musical contributions are an integral part of the De La Soul sound and the broader Native Tongues universe. His work bridges eras and genres with ease.

Fresh off what many are calling album of the year, Cabin in the Sky, Supa Dave continues to show why his name belongs in the same breath as Pete Rock, J Dilla, Hi-Tek, and DJ Premier. From classic hip-hop joints to gospel, house music, and other exploratory musical forays, his musicality is deep, fearless, and timeless. An enigmatic figure with an unmistakable feel, Supa Dave is a true artist’s artist—a drummer, a musician, and an all-around cool dude.

This set will feature a blend of new music, classic productions, original beats, and instrumentals from a one-of-a-kind legend. This is a rare opportunity to experience a living pillar of the culture in an intimate, community-centered setting.

February is also Jah Freedom’s birthday month, and we’ll be celebrating right along with you. Jah Freedom will be in the building as host, curator, and community builder, setting the tone for another proper BeatFreaq experience.

BeatFreaq is a community-driven event centered on producers, musicians, artists, creatives, and the people who genuinely love music and art. After a brief hiatus, we’re back with a spectacular lineup that spans styles, cultures, and generations. BeatFreaq has always moved freely—from Afrobeat to Zydeco, from Grammy award–winning producers to artists stepping on stage for the very first time. While producer-focused at its core, you’ll also hear singers, musicians, and boundary-pushers of all kinds.

We also feature an Open Aux, giving producers a chance to share their work in a live, supportive environment.
