We’re proud to partner with QueerScreen to present two special films as part of the Mardi Gras Film Festival, starting with the powerful and deeply moving documentary Fatherhood.Fatherhood follows David, Sindre, and Kris — a gay Norwegian throuple preparing to become parents. Kris, the first trans man in Norway to carry a pregnancy, never thought fatherhood would be possible after years of being told his womb wasn’t viable due to testosterone treatment. But when doctors discover his womb is healthy, a lifelong dream suddenly becomes real.
Set against the backdrop of Norway’s history of mandatory sterilisation of trans people, this warm and observant documentary captures the trio’s journey through pregnancy — from medical appointments and nursery plans to navigating public curiosity and explaining their family to the world.
Joyful, intimate, and quietly radical, Fatherhood is a celebration of love, resilience, and non-traditional families — and a moving call for justice, healing, and recognition.
