FRIDAY.21.AUG.26
BEANS ON TOAST
Funke and the Two Tone Baby
Lydia Daisy | Freear (DJ) from Slamboree
Beans on Toast and Friends at The Pgs Nose Inn, a magical boozer in Devon.
Beans on Toast is the long-running project of Essex-born songwriter Jay McAllister: a cult figure in modern British folk, known for sharp, funny, honest songs about people, politics, love, friendship and the strange business of being alive. He has become a familiar name on the UK festival circuit, including regular Glastonbury appearances, and has built a reputation for gigs that feel as much like a gathering as a performance.
Joining him is Funke and the Two Tone Baby, a one-man force of loopers, samples, guitar, harmonica, dirty synth basslines and heavy dance beats. His live sets sit somewhere between alt-blues, electro-rock, 90s dance energy and festival madness — big, sweaty, inventive and built for movement.
Also on the bill is Lydia Daisy — artist, activist, poet, singer, MC and performer — bringing words, voice and presence to the night. Her work sits naturally in the space between music, poetry, theatre and live art, adding another thread of spontaneity and character to the evening.
On the decks will be Feear / Freear of Slamboree, part of the world of Slamboree — the anarchic festival collective known for bass, drums, circus-cabaret energy and full-throttle live spectacle. Expect a DJ set with a properly festival-minded approach: colourful, left-field, high-energy and made for dancing.
Expect a night of celebrating, dancing, collaborating and creativity in a family-run village pub, that knows how to throw a party!
"A master of his art"
Full Pelt
"Genuinely life-affirming”
Louder Than War
“A proper folk singer”
