"The Bambino, Don Arnold, a dear friend of mine since the late 60's followed his path into his own aftermath. He was a teammate and with Jimi Bernath [nee: Ogg] Put the Fernando Llamas softball and leisure club together. We played slow pitch for 20 wonderful years. He was also a good patron of my art and began collecting pieces in the early 70's and amassed a nice collection over the years. Recently his family, Paige and Margie wanted to auction off a large part of his collection of my art for the Houston Food Bank and they asked me if I would be the auctioneer, and did I have any idea how to do an auction for my art. So I pondered and I talked to Shaun at Dan Electros, [who is doing a splendid job of stewardship of the iconic club] and I have booked the afternoon of August 24th, 2pm until 5:30 for: Beans Barton's VainGlorious Shop, Look And Listen Art Exhibit And Auction of the "Bambino Art Collection" All proceeds go to the Houston Food Bank. 2 until 5 will be silent auction for viewing and bidding. I will paint a performance art piece and spew some stories. I have asked Noah, the Bibulb, to put together a musical soundtrack of recorded music I have been a part of for 50 years from Heaves to a lot of music Bipedal. So keep the date in mind, Sunday August 24 at Dan Electros 2pm until 5:30. All $ for the Houston Food Bank, let's feed some kids, and as ever, Shop Look and Listen as we all Art On! beans"
