Hello all, welcome back.. I hope you have been keeping well over the summer holidays.
Those new to the group, welcome, and thank you for showing an interest.
To say goodbye to Summer and kick-start Autumn the year, I shall be conducting a hike group walk/hike from Beachy Head along the Seven Sisters trail in Eastbourne which is approx .2hrs drive away from Portsmouth should you be traveling from there.
This walk/hike will take us from Beachy Head, to Birling Gap, through various fields (be mindful of live stock) with stunning views into Friston forest, were we will have nurmous short breaks before heading along the Cuckmere river and the chalky cliff tops of the Seven Sisters to Belle Tout Lighthouse and back to the Beachy Head Pub for refreshments (optional).
There are toilet facilities and picnic benches at the start, middle and end, making this an ideal opportunity to relax, rehydrate and take on some nutrition.
This moderately challenging walk/hike which is undulating with a lot of up and downs in areas, although an absolutely stunning walk across part of the South Downs that offers plenty of wildlife, and beautiful sea views.
This walk/hike is aimed to be a more relaxed walk and talk, coffee or hip flask in hand kind of day through a woodland trail and along the coastline.
Taking approximately 5hrs to complete the 10-mile walk. For those that would like to stay for some food, i aim to head in to the local pub called “The Beachy Head” (address: Beachy Head Road, Eastbourne BN20 7YA) this is a dog friendly bar.
•This is suitable for all ability levels and is a great introduction to group hikes
•18+ (Over 16s are welcomed if accompanied by an adult/guardian)
•Dogs are welcome (For the parts of the walk they will need to be kept on the lead due to the cliffs and livestock roam around)
