BeachSMART Arroyo Beach Community Conversations

Please join the BeachSMART Team on Tuesday, September 29th, 2026, from 5:30pm - 7:00pm at Watershed Resource Center, to discuss beach nourishment at Goleta Beach and potential beach nourishment at the Arroyo Burro Beach and Hope Ranch Beach.

The team has completed a Draft Alternative Sites and Feasibility Analysis that will be open for public comment later this autumn. The Draft Analysis identified potential beaches along the south coast of Santa Barbara County to place sediment for beach nourishment. The sites were analyzed through a multi-benefit, robust, objective, and repeatable screening process. Sites identified for beach nourishment include Goleta Beach and potential beach nourishment at the Arroyo Burro Beach and Hope Ranch Beach.
