You’re Invited to “Be the Light” – on August 29th, 2026. The Together We Can CHQ Coalition is proud to host the Third Annual Be the Light: Anyone Can Save a Life event from 6PM–8PM at Point Gratiot Park in Dunkirk, NY.
Held in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day, this free, family-friendly event honors lives lost to overdose, celebrates recovery, and brings our community together in hope, healing, and connection.
Highlights include:
Live music by Miranda Wilcox
Kid-friendly activities and prizes!!
Stories of resilience and recovery
Resource fair with local services/agencies
Purple glow visual at dusk to honor & remember those lost to accidental overdose led by Jim LaBarr
Light refreshments
Recognition of Chautauqua County EMS
Education on the NYS Good Samaritan Law with Sheriff James Quattrone
Harm reduction education and supplies
We invite you not only to attend but also to participate!!
