During the month of August, we will be doing a 4-week study on being and making disciples. The mission statement of the United Methodist Church is “making disciples for the transformation of the world.” At Stidham, I don’t want this to be our motto. I want us to be actively engage in making disciples here in our community.
However, many of us don’t really understand what it means or what it entails to make disciples. During this study, we will look at what it means to be a disciple, and then spend time discussing what that looks like here at Stidham, and in our own lives.
I hope that everyone will plan to get involved in this study. If you are an usher, greeter, committee member, or committee chair. I hope that you will be there. Discipleship is core to what we are called to be as a church, and we all play a role.
Each session will begin at 6:30 PM, and will include table discussion - so bring a friend.
