Do you want to experience STL Mardi Gras like never before? Be apart of the grand parade. All eyes on you as you ride or walk down Broadway throwing beads and draaankin with friends.
We used to run with a Krewe that did this every year. It's been awhile and we missed doing it so we submitted an entry to the parade committee and they approved us. It is so so so much fun.
WHATS INCLUDED
- Keg on float
-big jug of hurricane on float
-portapotty on float
-massive PA sound system
-beads to throw
-all the smiles and memories you make
COST: How do y'all feel about $100 a person? bring all your comments good or bad. I know it sounds steep but it will be all you can drink keg and hurricanes and that also includes the beads. Before you laugh me off, this wont even begin to cover the cost to do this. Each person will easily throw the majority of that in beads. Were required to have a porta potty on the float. The materials, supplies and paint and time to build the float will eat up most of this cost. I will post every dollar collected and receipt of every dollar spent. This will be treated like a non profit as every dollar will go into ensuring everyone has a great time. If there is a balance left over, it will be posted and we can take a vote for money to be returned or the group can elect to put it towards next year. If you don't drink just talk to us. we will work with ya. We don't want the price to scare anyone away but building a float and buying beads does cost money.
PAYMENT
venmo-----@RICH-BROWN
cashapp----$MFKNRICH
Add the names of who's coming as the note so I can jot y'all down. You can always pay in person as well.
TIME- the parade is about 3 hours long and it starts at 11 If we get down there at 8Ish and get the float ready. You essentially get 6 hours of all you can drink if you leave right after. BUT we will try to park the float somewhere around a bar and stay until the booze run out. people can pop in and out as they please.
THEME- the theme of the grand parade is foods. We chose a tropical theme. This will make it easy on costumes. We will need some people to dress festive and in costumes "not everyone but the more the better" so you can simply get online and order a banana or coconut or pineapple costume and call it a day. grass skirts. coconut bras, tribal tattoo shirts for the guys stuff like that. Anything islander or tropical will do.
I know this is last minute but we can pull this off. We have 3 weekends between now and the parade to get a float built.
Next year we can do fundraising events throughout the year and cut down on the costs for the main krewe that wants to continue to do this and build a float every year. We will put ideas into a pool and vote on themes and designs then brainstorm on float design.
