Be My Neighbor Day with South Florida PBS

Join South Florida PBS for Be My Neighbor Day, a free, family-friendly event celebrating kindness, friendship, and community—just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Inspired by Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, this special event invites families to enjoy a variety of fun and meaningful activities designed for young children and their caregivers.

The day begins with a meet-and-greet with Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat, offering kids the chance to take photos and interact with their favorite PBS KIDS characters.

Families will then be welcomed to a special storytime led by Miss Penny from KidVision Pre-K, featuring a Daniel Tiger book such as Happy Love Day, highlighting themes of kindness, sharing, and friendship. After storytime, children can take part in hands-on activities, including making bookmarks for new library members and creating “Love Cards” for parents, caregivers, or friends.

Guests will also enjoy another opportunity to meet Daniel Tiger and Katerina, explore educational resources, participate in neighborly activities, and take home a Daniel Tiger book along with other fun giveaways.
