Be a More Confident and Effective Public Speaker (5 Sessions)

Hi, I'm Chris Murphy, The Speaking Mentor, I am delighted you are reading about my 'Be a Better Speaker' course. If you want to feel and be different when you are speaking to others then well done on starting to do something about that. You most certainly can change what you feel and how you put your message across, whatever the audience size.

This course, spread over 5 sessions, is ideal for anyone wanting to feel more confident and be able to convey a more interesting and compelling message.

Whether you are:

• Distracted by nervous prior to, or during, a presentation
• You’ve previously had a bad experience or
• You simply want to be a more skilled and engaging presenter or something else...

Whatever it is, I’ve helped lots of others to become achieve these and I feel confident I can help you achieve your goal. Held over 5 sessions (course dates below) you and a maximum of 5 others will learn about settling anxiety when speaking to others, understanding how to continually improve your speaking skills, structuring a presentation, engaging an audience, body language and much more. There is plenty of time for practise so you get exactly what you want from the course.

I used to be scared of speaking to others when I was younger. I learnt to do it over years but there is a far quicker way and I can help you learn that. As a double winner of Toastmasters International UK Public Speaking contests, I've learnt a lot and I can teach you much of that and, in doing so, you can become a confident, engaging and effective public speaker just like many of my former students.

As to what we cover, the following gives you an overview of the course and what we will cover together:

• Understanding and building confidence
• Understand what you do well and both what you can improve and how
• Clarity in both your message and your spoken word
• Tools to help you engage better with your audience
• How to evaluate a speech and give useful feedback
• Improving your voice and body language

The small group is vital to allow each person to share their experience and support each other to be the very best speaker they can be. The group atmosphere is lovely and it is always a complete pleasure to watch people develop, grow and bloom when they flow through the course.

Weds 12th Nov 2025 (10am to 12.30pm)

Weds 19th Nov 2025 (10am to 12.30pm)

Weds 26th Nov 2025 (10am to 12.30pm) - two weeks after previous session

Weds 3rd Dec 2025 (10am to 12.30pm)

Weds 10th Dec 2025 (10am to 12.30pm)
