Please join us on Sunday June 28, 2026 from 2-5pm to celebrate this year's "Dr. Michael Shannon Dance Champion Award" recipients, and the 2026 Unsung Hero Award.

2026 DANCE CHAMPIONS

• Laura Young, former Boston Ballet Principal Artist, Teacher and Administrator

2026 UNSUNG HERO

• Lynda Reiman, manager of BU Dance Theater

Guests will enjoy an array of beverages and locally provided small bites during the formal program, featuring remarks from Aaron Myers, BDA Executive Director, and John Michael Kennedy, BDA Board Chair; the presentation of the 2026 Dr. Michael Shannon Dance Champion Awards; and performances by local dance artists honoring the legacies of this year’s Dance Champions. The evening will also celebrate the past, present, and future of dance alongside fellow pioneers, leaders, and past honorees, while supporting BDA’s future through ticket purchases, guest invitations, and additional donations to fund the ongoing 7074 Initiative.
