BCO Presents: Echoes of Nordic and Romantic Spirits

The Bravo Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Alvaro Gomez, invites you to an afternoon of youthful brilliance and haunting landscapes. This program pairs the early genius of Felix Mendelssohn with the atmospheric charm of Edvard Grieg. Beginning with Mendelssohn’s sparkling Sinfonia X in B minor, written when the composer was only 14, the concert journeys through the vivid scenes of Grieg’s beloved Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, from the serene rise of the Norwegian dawn to the thrilling chase of trolls in the mountain hall. The program concludes with Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 11, his first full-scale symphonic achievement, brimming with dramatic intensity, lyrical beauty, and youthful fire.
