BCAC: New Volunteer Orientation
Every wagging tail and gentle purr tells a story of hope — and you can be part of it. By giving just two hours each week, you help transform lives. Volunteers are the heart of BCAC: they walk our large dogs twice a day, take them on field trips and community events, and give them the socialization and love they need to find their perfect forever home.
Your time means fresh air, companionship, and confidence for animals waiting for adoption. We ask that volunteers be willing and able to walk at least one mile and lift up to 30 pounds to ensure safety while handling animals.
Join us for the New Volunteer Orientation at the Blount County Operations Center / Hwy Department, 1221 McArthur Rd., Maryville, TN 37804 — follow the public parking signs up the hill.
Volunteer shifts are available Monday–Friday, 8–10 a.m. or 2–4 p.m., and Saturdays, 8–10 a.m. or 1–3 p.m.
Large Dog Walkers (ages 16+) are greatly needed!
Additional training will occur at BCAC in your chosen area of interest. Please bring your signed application and liability waiver to orientation.
When you volunteer, you’re not just walking dogs — you’re walking them toward a better life. 💙🧡
