Dutch Fine Art photographer Vincent van Gaalen, winner of the BBA Photography Prize 2022, captures Europe’s last unpolluted nocturnal landscapes. Using just a camera and camping gear, he explores the tension between urbanization and nature. A 2011 graduate of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague and now represented artist at BBA, van Gaalen’s silvery, imaginative works have been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions.
Rhys Himsworth, a British artist from Wales and Royal College of Art London graduate, lives and works in Berlin. Represented by BBA Gallery, his work merges painting, digital, and print techniques to explore themes of mass production, techno-capitalism, and global trade. By repurposing obsolete electronics, Himsworth critiques consumerism while transforming materials into captivating and beautiful landscapes and florals.
British artist Giulietta Coates, represented by BBA Gallery since 2017, merges photography with wooden structures and collage, redefining the medium. Based in Haut Provence for over 14 years, she uses smartphone cameras to capture landscapes that evoke beauty, loss, and impermanence. A Royal College of Art London graduate (2006), her work is featured in international collections.
