Batty about Trevince
About this Event
Join us for a different view of Trevince, as we explore the gardens from a bats eye view with ecologist Ashley Dale.Using bat detectors kindly loaned by the Cornwall Bat Group, we'll listen to the ultrasonic calls of different species and, with a bit of luck, spot them flying overhead as they emerge to forage. Along the way, Ashley will share insights into these fascinating mammals, the ecology of bats, how the detectors work, and the important role bats play in our environment. What to bring: Sturdy footwear, warm clothing and a torch. If you have an Android phone, you can also download the Echo Meter Touch app to see and hear bat calls in real time (please note this app is not compatible with iPhones). Please note that bats are wild animals, so while we hope to see and hear plenty of activity, sightings cannot be guaranteed. The event is weather dependent, and attendees will be notified if poor weather means the walk needs to be postponed.
