Battle of the Organs!

Back to the place where it all started, we open our 45th anniversary season featuring two unique instruments: Riverside Church’s world-renowned pipe organ along-side the humble barrel organ, a smaller, mechanically operated instrument here transformed into a vehicle of uncanny poignance and expressive power in Marius Constant’s visionary, one-of-a-kind concerto. Our honored soloists are French Barrel Organist Jonathan Mathis as well as Riverside Church’s Nathaniel Gumbs, who will perform a towering solo Bach masterpiece and Poulenc’s endearing concerto.
