Race 3 of 4 of the Alamo Series Beer Challenge 2025.
For this race we thought:“Why not bring you to the hills and do it as a group? We’ll have one nice day of hills for breakfast, with a huge party afterwards.”
The race takes place on the outskirts of northwestern San Antonio, in a little burg called Helotes (the Spanish word for ‘corn ear,’ or ‘corn-on-the-cob’). Because Helotes lies at the beginning of the Texas Hill Country, runners affectionately nicknamed it “Hillotes.” Many runners train on the town’s hills.
We consider this event as THE event. It is designed to acclimate yourself for upcoming hilly races. Training is fun and prepares you for your target events. But, you have to know exactly what to do on race day. So, this event is where you’ll test yourself. It’s your chance to check your gear, gauge your heart rate, your stamina, your brain—everything that will help your racing go smoothly.
We also want you to learn all the procedures within the race: where to check in, where to put your race number, where to get your racing chip and where to properly place it. We can help you if you need it. That’s what these races are designed to do.
You’ll share roads with cars during this race, but you will also run on several roads not open to the public. The 5k is an out-and-back, and we do give you a very good hill—because we know you want the hilliness.

We will announce parking areas on social media and send out emails the closer we get to Race Day. So make sure your Race Roster email is correct and check it often.

All age group awards will be based on chip time due to needing to start in waves.
We award for 1st through 4th so don’t leave without your award.
Some things to consider;
When you finish make sure your time matching what your watch says and that your name is spelled correctly and your gender is correct and you are in the right age category.
If you do not finish do not leave until you tell the timing people, because we do not leave until all runners are finished, we will have to go look for you.
Don’t run with someone else’s number.
Wear your number on the front of your shorts and do not bend the number as it has your chip embedded into the bib.
Show up with plenty of time to get your bib, go to the bathroom and get in line before the start of your race.
Invite family and or friends and ask them if they would like to volunteer while you run. Being a volunteer for a couple of hours is an enjoyable thing, we promise they will love it.
Bring a change of clothes and leave them in your car so you can get out of sweaty clothes and come back to the awards ceremony.
Each race has its own fun design on the ever loved tri-blend shirt.
Virtual runners
We offer the opportunity to run on your own but still sign up for the race. Life happens and sometimes even at the last minute you can’t make it to the race. You can switch to virtual. We prefer if you do that on the Thursday before the race. The reason is that we assign bib numbers on Thursday before the race at noon. After noon it becomes hard for us to make changes and several people have to get involved. You may be charged more to switch to virtual after Thursday before each race.
If you are a virtual runner, we do not put a limit on when you have to run. Do not stress out If you are injured it might be a few weeks before you can run. Do it when you can. We do have a virtual tab on our website click there and follow the instructions. If you want your packet mailed there will be a charge to mail your packet and this charge will be determined as we get closer to the event. Presently it is $12 per packet.
All of these things are here to help. We still love you, we just want you to have fun.
Race Updates:
Event location maybe subject to change. We will make announcements online, via social media, and via our e-newsletters when these events are updated.
Questions [email protected] will get you answers.
