Below is the way battle scoring works:
1. Add up all the scores from each of the three games; whichever team has the highest total score wins. To avoid there being a theoretical possibility that two wins can still count as a team loss, we will add 100 battle points for a win, 50 for a draw, and 0 for a loss. If there is still a draw after all three games, the match will remain a draw.
Below is the way the team paint score will work:
1. Each teammate will be judged on their painting abilities individually by 3 judges (combination of staff/TOs). Based on the painting rubric, a player's max score from one judge is 15 points, thus equaling 45 total points for an individual and 135 total points for the team's Overall score. Judging will occur after Round 1 but before lunch. Rubrics will be sent out no later than the end of August 31, 2023. Additionally, each team will vote for who they think has the best themed and painted team armies (not including their own). The team with the most votes will get an additional 15 points.
Below is the way individual paint scores will work:
1. Each participating player will receive one ballot. After lunch, but before Round 2 begins, each player will vote on which singular army they think is best painted.
Prize Support (A team cannot win more than one team prize. Individual players can win a maximum of one team prize and one individual prize):
- Battle for Maryland Champions (Best Overall Team), Store credit + Customized MD Flag + Names on plaque
- Most Glamorous Team (Best Painted), Store credit + Customized MD Flag + Names on plaque
- Commanders-in-Chief (Best Generals), Store credit + Customizes MD Flag + Names on plaque
- Top Army on Parade (Best Army Display) Store credit + Trophy
- Top Gears of War (Best Hobbyist – non-commissioned) Store credit + Trophy
- Wooden Spoon (lowest-ranking player, singles ranking), Store credit + Trophy
- Team Ace (Most Ace cards collected at end of Round 5), Store credit + Trophy
Below is how Team Ace works:
Every player is given a playing card upon registration, making sure to keep it hidden. One player in a team will have the Ace playing card. If the player with the Ace card loses to another player, they must forfeit their card to the winner. At the end of Round 5, whichever player has the most Ace cards and is highest in BCP standings will be awarded this prize.
In addition to the GT book, the team tournament rules are as follows:
- Team Captains will roll off based on pairings. Winning Captain will offer one player as tribute. The Losing Captain will then match that player with one of his/her players to play against. The Losing Captain will then offer the other two players as tribute. The Winning Captain then matches those two players with the rest of his/her team. Each tribute player then gets to select the table that they will use, starting with the player from the team that won the roll off." Each table will have a different terrain setup associated with them to choose from.
- Tracked on BCP by team name (battle score for a player will be submitted to ITC); lists submitted through BCP no later than 11:59 PM on Saturday, October 5th, 2024; no submission in BCP means teams/players will be ineligible for prizes.
- TO rules are law; no if's, and's, or but's
- If one player finishes on a team, do not help or give advice to another team member while they are playing (this can be distracting and take away from strategy of each player). The first infraction is a warning. Second infraction after will be 10 VP deductions from the player that helped. The third infraction will be their last game is put to a 0. We will be using ITC Code of Conduct as well as the local MD FAQ. If rules are found to be intentionally misused or abused, you will get one warning before we boot you from the event.
- Have fun!
