Battery Storage, Solar PV, and EV Safety Training for First Responders
About this Event
Join the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER) and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) for a free, full-day in-person training for first responders and emergency management professionals.
This training prepares attendees to safely respond to incidents involving solar PV systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and electric vehicles including a hands-on EV demonstration in the afternoon. Sessions are led by experts from Ridgeline Energy Analytics, Camelot Energy Group, Energy Response Solutions and Tactical Resource Fire Training.
Who should attend: firefighters, EMS, fire marshals, code officials, emergency managers, and state, municipal, or utility staff with response or planning responsibilities.
What's included: full-day instruction, lunch, and a certificate of completion.
Please note:
- Seating is limited to 80 attendees first-come, first-served, with a waitlist available
- Registration closes June 20, 2026, or when capacity is reached
- Parking is available on-site - there will be special event parking signs directing to Builiding 100 parking lot.
