About this Event

Learn all about bats! Dr. Dave Johnston, a renowned wildlife ecologist with decades of experience studying the foraging ecology and conservation of bats, will share a slideshow presentation followed by an evening bat walk. He will use bat detectors to listen to bats and identify them in the field!

The presentation will be in the 3rd floor auditorium of the headquarters building. Park in the main lot at 1 Marshlands Road, Fremont and take the stairs up to the auditorium (contact us at least a week in advance if you need accommodations). Please arrive at least 5 minutes early so we help can help direct you. Additional details will be sent in the confirmation email. This program is suitable for families and all ages.

We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes and warm layers. Please bring a flashlight or headlamp for the hike!

This program is led by volunteer Dave Johnston with support from the , the nonprofit Friends group supporting the USFWS San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge Complex.
