Batik Workshop with Heather Martin
Using hot wax as a resist and layers of richly colored dye, you’ll create expressive patterns and textures that reflect your personal style. Whether you prefer bold, graphic lines or soft, organic shapes, your finished artwork will be a one-of-a-kind expression of your creativity.
No experience is needed—just curiosity and a love of color. All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a unique piece of artwork you can display, use, or transform in a way that suits you.
Each artwork will be unique to your own design. When planning your composition, keep in mind that fine details are often lost in the batik process.
Designs with bold shapes and simpler forms work best. Great reference examples include botanicals, florals, motif designs, Walter Anderson block prints, Indian art, and Aboriginal art.
