Children, ages 8 to 14, will learn about batik, an ancient textile art form from Indonesia where wax is used to create patterns on fabric when it's dyed, before trying their hand at a simpler version using glue and paint. This event is part of a series. The second event will be held on Friday, July 17 at 2:00pm. If you register for this first event, you will also be registering for future occurrences. Kids MUST be able to attend both sessions of this program in order to participate, as our batik pieces need time to dry between steps. Registration is required. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Sponsored by the Friends of the JHPL.
