About this Event
As part of the river avon Pilgrimage (see separate event for full info!) we are visiting each town in the beautiful valley of Avon, bringing the message of the river that has had enough of river pollution and mistreatment. It's time to bring the river Avon Charter to each town council and enshrine this in future policy, decisions and responsible stewardship of our natural resources.
This day of action will involve peaceful river action protest, marching the streets of Bath in joyful reverence and celebration of our river, and a clear message to our leaders with the presentation of the River Avon Charter.
there will be music, samba band, performances, speeches, the Red Rebels and much more as we march through the streets and along the river banks to stand up for the water and spread the awareness to the people of Bath about this new movement for river action.
2pm - gather outside the Guildhall main entrance.
2.30-3pm - opening and hearing from river activists and speakers. Beginning the action day with a powerful grief ceremony honouring our waters, led by the Red Rebels and water wisdom keepers.
3-4.30pm march and river procession through town and long river avons banks with Samba band finishing at the Guildhall.
4.30pm deliver the Avon Charter to council representatives
5-6pm music, river celebration, discussions and close
