Bat Walk & Survey along the River Wandle
About this Event
We will start at Merton Abbey Mills (by the River Wandle Community Garden) and walk along the River Wandle towards Deen City Farm, where we'll look for and listen to bats. You will learn how to use bat detectors to hear their distinctive echolocation calls.
Additionally, we will participate in the Bat Conservation Trust's (BCT) National Bat Monitoring Programme - Sunset Survey. This event is perfect for those with no previous bat surveying experience.

This event part of the Wandle Fornight, which is a celebration of the Wandle Valley run by the community for the community. We would like to thank the Wandle Valley Forum for providing us with a grant to purchase some bat detectors. We would also like to thank the Friends of Mitcham Common for lending us some of their bat detectors.
