Bat Acoustic Walk - Nell's Woodland

Join us for an immersive nocturnal hike where you'll use specialized acoustic detectors to listen for the inaudible calls of bats. Learn about about the 13 species of bats that call Illinois home, why their populations are in decline, and what you can do to help. Then experience the thrill of “listening in” on a short hike with specialized acoustic equipment as they forage and navigate the night sky.
All ages are welcome. Space is limited. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a flashlight or headlamp.
