The Bassingham Bash is a fast, flat 5-mile road race, held on quiet rural roads and provides great PB potential over a classic distance. The event is an integral part of the annual Bassingham Village Show which has many displays and attractions including food and drink outlets. Bring your family and friends. Free entry. All welcome.This year is the 20th annual staging of the race, which also incorporates the Lincolnshire 5 Miles County Championship.Bassingham is 10 minutes east of the A1 accessed from the A46 between Newark and Lincoln. Race day info will be sent out in the week before the event.The race produces some of the fastest UK times for 5 miles across the age categories each year, with many race participants achieving PB's. Last year's open race winners both set course records - Jordan Skelly, Lincoln Wellington AC, 23.28, Gemma Steel, Charnwood AC, 26.05 There are over £700 of cash prizes for first three male/female senior and the first three U23 male/female. Cash bonus if the course records are broken.Veteran age category prizes male/female V40, V50, V60.Local athlete prizes.Minimum age for entry is 15 years on the day of the race.All funds from the event are used directly to support Newark and Lincolnshire area young athlete development projects.
