Bass for Beginners

Ever wanted to try the bass guitar but didn't know where to start? This is your chance! Join us for a relaxed, fun introduction to playing the bass. You don't even need to have a bass guitar to join - we can lend you one on the night. It will be a chance to get a bass guitar in your hand and learn the basics in a small supportive group.

Donations raised from this session will go towards Givin’ it Laldie, a community music organisation based in the Gorbals, Glasgow. Our free music sessions for folks aged 9 to 99 bring local people from diverse backgrounds together to improve health and well-being, create community, and improve access to arts and culture in the area.

This session will be taught by Patrick Shand. Patrick is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and community musician who studied music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. While they are a very accomplished player, one of their favourite things to do is to teach others in a way that is accessible and fun. They have worked with Givin' it Laldie for many years teaching countless participants piano, guitar, bass and more.
