The 2026 Great Salt Lake Audubon Basin and Range Seminar will be held this May 29-31 and held conveniently this year at the Diamond Fork Group Campground in Spanish Fork Canyon, Utah County. Basin & Range is an annual event and has been held almost every year since 1983 (this is our 42th year). The purpose of Basin & Range is to provide an opportunity for people to camp in a unique location and learn about the local flora and fauna, as well as the natural and historical character of the area. The event is limited to 50 participants.
We have reserved Group Campsite 3 in the canyon along a stream for Friday and Saturday nights. For those not wanting to camp, the independently-owned 130-year-old Art City Inn in Springville is only 30 minutes away along with other hotel options.
We will have morning and afternoon field trips Saturday followed by a potluck dinner and an evening presentation. Another set of field trips are offered Sunday morning. We have lined up a great mix of instructors and topics participants can choose from including Entomology, Reptiles and Amphibians, Edible and Medicinal Plants, Botany, Haiku writing, Bird Photography as well as great local birding instructors!
For those not wanting to camp, the independently-owned 130-year-old Art City Inn in Springville is only 30 minutes away along with other hotel options.
Online registration will be forthcoming in an email. Mark your calendars!!
