BASICS: Dovetail Joinery
About this Event
Learn about Dovetail Joinery through using the Rockler and Porter-Cable Dovetail Router Jigs at Lacey MakerSpace. Practice dovetailing a joint with instructor Ian Sandall
In this 2 hour course you will learn:
- basic safety and operations of a router
- layout & secure clamping
- test-fitting & routing
- set up & storage of the Dovetail Jigs
Attendees will not be making their own personal box , but instead will learn all the steps to Dovetail Joinery including a hands on lesson with the router. For attendees that have never used a router before, consider taking the LMS Basics: Plunge Router & Router Table course before this one for the best experience.
Member Note: LMS has a $10 show fee for LMS members who don't show up for the classes they sign up for. These fees will be charged to the card we have on file. This fee is being implemented due to a pattern of members not showing up to our classes. Our classes have a limited number of slots and we want to serve as many attendees as possible.
Closed toed shoes are required. Safety Glasses are provided and required. Hearing protection is required for those under 18.
Anyone ages 12 and up are welcome. Attendees under the age of 18 must have a legal guardian present at all times.
