About this Event
We’re pleased to offer up to 10 fully funded places for Hertfordshire-based participants, funded by Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership in collaboration with Accessible Chair Yoga CIC and aligned with Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire. This one-day course is designed to help you confidently introduce accessible yoga techniques into community settings, particularly when working with older adults.
With a growing body of evidence highlighting the wide-ranging health benefits of yoga, this one‑day course offers valuable opportunity to expand learning to demonstrate simple and effective yoga techniques that can be used personally and shared with others.
During the training, you’ll learn how to demonstrate simple, safe and effective yoga movements, breathing techniques and relaxation practices. By the end of the course, participants will be able to confidently demonstrate basic yoga movement, breathing and relaxation techniques suitable for independent practice or group delivery. The course covers key postures from all the main pose groups, including standing poses, forward and backward bends, twists, sun salutations and gentle inversions. You’ll also explore postural alignment, the role of the breath, mindfulness and guided relaxation or meditation.
Questions and discussion are encouraged throughout, ensuring everyone leaves with a clear understanding of how to safely and effectively support others through an accessible yoga practice.
