Build Your Own Custom Fishing Rod — And Take It Home!
Ready to roll up your sleeves and build something you will actually use on the water? Join us for this hands-on rod-building workshop where participants will craft their own 6.5-foot medium-action spinning rod from start to finish—and take it home when completed.
This course is taught over three nightly sessions, allowing participants time to learn each step of the rod-building process, complete the required hands-on work, and allow proper curing time for the finished rod.
No experience is needed. We provide all tools, materials, and instruction. Skilled instructors will guide participants through each stage of building a custom fishing rod.
Participants will learn how to:
Identify the rod spine for improved performance
Prepare handles and guides for installation
Space and align guides correctly
Wrap guides securely and neatly
Apply epoxy for a durable, professional finish
Important Information
All materials and equipment are provided. Participants only need to arrive ready to learn and work.
Because this workshop is completed over three evening sessions, participants should plan to attend each night in order to complete their rod.
Epoxy requires approximately 8 hours to cure, so finished rods will be available for pick-up on the next business day after the final session.
Due to high demand, participation in this class is limited to once every 36 months per participant.
Spots are limited, so do not miss this opportunity to build a custom fishing rod with your own hands. This workshop is perfect for anglers who want a deeper connection to their gear or anyone who enjoys a rewarding DIY challenge.
