Basic Bike Maintenance : Bike Safety Check and How to Repair a Puncture

A free workshop for women to learn how to check that their bike is roadworthy, and how to fix a puncture. Includes free puncture repair kit.
About this Event

This free class is ideal for women with no previous bike maintenance experience. Led by women, for women. You will learn at your own pace and there will be lots of opportunity for questions and extra cycling tips and tricks..

Held at the Women In Tandem workshop at Chaucer Court Workshops, Chaucer Street, Nottingham, NG1 5LP .

Together we will cover:

• Bike Safety Checks - make sure your bike is roadworthy
• Puncture Repair, including how to remove your back wheel
• Cleaning and oiling your chain
• Setting up your bike for maximum comfort and efficiency

You will need:

• Your bike (or you can work on one of ours)
• Comfortable warm clothing you don’t mind getting mucky (we don’t have heating - please dress for warmth!).

We will provide all the tools and necessary equipment you need for the course. Tea, coffee and bisucits are provided but bring additional snacks if you wish! We ask that you please arrive on time, as this is a taught workshop, not a drop-in.

Each attendee will be given a FREE puncture repair kit.

This session is organised by Women in Tandem, a Community Interest Company based in Nottingham that aims to support and empower women to ride bikes.

NOTE: this class is open to self-identifying women and non-binary folk only.
