An Evening with Elif Shafak - St. Mary's Church, Nottingham
About this Event
We are delighted to welcome Elif Shafak to Nottingham to celebrate the release of In One Brief Moment All Eternity. Join us at the beautiful St Mary’s Church in the Lace Market to hear all about Elif’s new book.
Internationally-acclaimed novelist Elif Shafak returns to celebrate her extraordinary new novel, In One Brief Moment All Eternity. Spanning decades and continents, from revolutionary 19th-century France to Istanbul, Egypt and Beirut, this luminous and deeply moving story explores creativity and resistance in times of political upheaval and war. Reimagining the life of Gustave Flaubert through the real and fictional women who shaped him, Elif Shafak builds a fascinating bridge between Western prose and Eastern poetry and offers a powerful meditation on literature’s enduring role in a fractured world.
Elif will talk about her new book before an audience Q&A.
