About this Event
W hat is resin, what is the best product for the project I have in mind, where do I buy it, what's the best deal for the various products on the market, where can I purchase the pigment to colour my resin, what is mica powder and can I use it in my resin, what are cells and lacing, how to fix divets in cured resin, how do I create those amazing pieces that I see all over Pinterest and YouTube? We will also address how to use basic resin molds and then of course, caring for your pieces after they have cured. All of these topics will be discussed and answered in this new basic beginner workshop.
I'm confident that you've seen all the amazing things you can do with resin and are interested in learning "hands-on" how it's done. Working with resin is amazing and the possibilities are endless - really!
The basic techniques for resin mixing and manipulation will be demonstrated by your Creative Coach as well as how to properly mix colours, ratios for mixing, how to use the heat gun and torches to eliminate gas bubbles that occur naturally when the epoxy and the hardener are mixed together, swiping to create cells & lacing, and more.
A ll these tools and products will be on hand for you to use and experiment with before you decide if this is a hobby that you will enjoy
Our workshop experience will be one full hour of teaching and demonstration, followed up with the remaining time i n play and experimentation. E ach participant will be provided with all the supplies necessary to complete a practice panel and one larger cradle board panel in whatever colours and embellishments you want!
