Join us for a one-of-a-kind experience celebrating Franklinia alatamaha, a rare and storied plant first discovered by John and William Bartram in 1765. Though extinct in the wild since the late 1700s, this striking white-flowered shrub lives on through cultivation.
This special program, led by Dr. Jim Costa (HBS & WCU) and Cynthia Woodsong (paper flower artist), will bring Franklinia to life through:
🌿 A lecture on its fascinating history & biology
🌼 A visit to a blooming specimen in Highlands, NC
✂️ A hands-on workshop to craft paper replicas of its delicate flowers (all materials provided!)
Immerse yourself in both science and art as we honor this extraordinary plant. Space is limited—reserve your spot today!
