Barter-Base Workshop - Sharpening 101
About this Event
Join us for a practical, hands-on sharpening workshop with Andrew! Whether you're working with kitchen knives, garden tools, or other household blades, Andrew will introduce a variety of sharpening techniques to help you keep your tools working safely and effectively.
Participants will learn the basics of edge maintenance, explore different sharpening methods and tools, and have the opportunity to practice on real items. You're welcome to bring a few kitchen knives or yard tools from home to sharpen during the workshop.
No previous experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to learn. This workshop is designed for beginners and anyone looking to build confidence in maintaining their own tools.
Our workshops operate on a barter model rather than a fee-for-service model. We believe knowledge is valuable, and we invite participants to compensate facilitators for their time, equipment, experience, and generosity through a meaningful barter contribution. To help inspire your choice, Andrew has shared a wish list:
• Maple syrup
• Apples
• 90% isopropyl alcohol
This workshop is open to everyone in a welcoming environment. We are hoping to have the workshop outdoors, so please dress accordingly. A friendly dog lives on-site. Spots are limited, so reserve your ticket today!
If your plans change, please let us know so we can offer your spot to someone else.
