Join the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce as we celebrate our rich agricultural heritage at the 2026 Barnyard Bash! Presented by Jefferson County Farm Bureau and Agri-Industrial Plastics Company, this family-friendly event will take place at the historic Maasdam Barns on Friday, September 11, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Barnyard Bash promises an afternoon of hands-on fun, education, and entertainment for all ages. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the beautifully preserved Maasdam Barns, connect with local agriculture businesses and organizations, and enjoy a variety of interactive activities throughout the evening.
The fun begins at 4:00 p.m. with agriculture-related booths hosted by area businesses and organizations. Families can enjoy a bounce house, tractor-cade, horse-drawn wagon rides, barrel train rides, antique tractors, and a variety of agricultural displays and demonstrations. Children can meet farm animals, learn about traditional farming practices, try ropemaking, watch corn shelling demonstrations, and discover how hay was once put up using horses. The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce will once again host its popular giant bubble-making activity.
Food and refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the event. The local Girl Scouts will once again be serving their famous lemonade shake-ups as a fundraiser for their troop. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a pie silent auction featuring homemade pies baked and donated by area residents.
At 5:30 p.m., the Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District will present its annual conservation award to a local farmer, recognizing outstanding stewardship and commitment to agriculture in Jefferson County.
Bring the kids and spend the evening enjoying food, fun, and agriculture at one of Jefferson County's most beloved family events. Whether you're learning something new, visiting with neighbors, bidding on a homemade pie, or exploring the historic barns, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Parking will be available at the Jefferson County Health Center, with complimentary shuttle service transporting attendees directly to the Maasdam Barns.
