Join us for a full day celebrating the life and legacy of Northwest Ohio racing legend Barney Oldfield. From classic cars and historic films to family activities and race day traditions, Barney Oldfield Day brings together local history, community, and fun for all ages.Leading up to the event, visitors can participate in the Barney Oldfield Pit Pass Sociability Cruise-In from May 1 through June 20 by visiting participating businesses along the Yellowstone Trail and collecting stamps for prize entries. The more stamps collected, the larger the prize drawings participants will be entered into.
Event Highlights:
Barney Oldfield Car Show: 10 AM – 2 PM
• Bring your car, truck, or specialty vehicle
• First 100 vehicles receive a commemorative Barney Oldfield Day dash plaque
• No entry fee
Free Barney Oldfield Movies: 10 AM – 4 PM
• Museum of Fulton County & Welcome Center
• Featuring historic Barney Oldfield films and racing shorts throughout the day.
Oldfield/Kipper “Saloon” Café: 9 AM – 2 PM
• Located in the Museum lobby with mocktails, beverages, food, and snacks available for purchase.
Special Noon Presentation
• The unveiling of Barney Oldfield’s actual race helmet.
Oakshade Raceway Tribute
• Race cars on display
Annual Barney Oldfield Race at Oakshade Raceway
• Gates open at 4 PM
• Races begin at 7 PM
(Regular Oakshade admission applies)
Kids Activities
• Pinewood Derby (open class)
• Rubber Duck Race
• Additional activities throughout the day
