Barn Construction

CORRAL Riding Academy is putting down new roots in Raleigh. Join us in building our barn and program space! Your support will help us get the farm ready for our students and horses in time for the 2024-25 program year.

This is a dynamic project - depending on when you join in, we may be framing walls, installing insulation, setting posts, and more. Experience with construction is awesome, but not required. Our CORRAL staff and lead volunteers will help you learn what to do!

As much of the work is very physical and requires volunteers to use tools / machinery and follow guidance from our construction team, this need is not appropriate for youth volunteers. We look forward to offering more family-friendly volunteer opportunities (such as our monthly Saturdays on the Farm) in the near future!

Important: We've found that new construction projects in the area are impacting some navigation apps when folks make their way to the farm. Be sure your route takes you to Old Milburnie Road. As a back up, you can enter Beaverdam Elementary School (on Tarheel Club Ln.) into your app. Once you pass the school, you'll come to a three way intersection - turn onto Tarheel Clubhouse Ln. When you see the Hidden Cove community entrance, turn right - you'll find CORRAL at the end of the road. We'll have signs up to help.

Parking / Check In: When you arrive, park along the fence line at the front of the farm - a member of our CORRAL team will be there to check you in

What to wear/bring: Please come dressed in closed-toe shoes/boots. We also encourage you to bring work gloves and a water bottle. It's a good call to dress in layers, keeping the day's forecast in mind - long pants are recommended.
