Bark in the Park – Sunday 28th September 2025
Grab the lead and your best mate for the very first Bark in the Park (Uphill dog walk) at Christchurch Adventure Park!
This one’s all about fresh air, wagging tails, and a fun walk (or jog!) through our forest trails.

Schedule:
8:30am – 9:30am: Registration (collect entry bracelets)
9:30am – 9:45am: Event briefing
9:45am: Walk start
11.00am: Final call for last lap
Approx. 12.00pm: Walk finish

Event Details:
This is a relaxed dog run/walk that’s designed for everyone—whether you’re there to jog, stroll, or simply enjoy the outdoors with your furry friend!
Course: The event will be held on a single track and purpose-built machine walking track, offering a scenic off-road route to explore.
Pace: Take it at your own pace—perfect for a leisurely walk or a bit of a jog with your dog.
Laps: Participates can do as many laps as they would like as long as they begin the uphill trail before 11am

Route: Approx 3.5km
Start at event hub → follow the uphill walking track → turn left at Snakeobs road
Water station located at the Downhill Junction
Return via:
Active Rest into Non-Compliant (Green) – general route
Technical blue track – for experienced walkers/dogs

Onsite Features:
Multiple dog supply vendors
Water station mid-course
Free Ice cream station at finish!
Dog Rules:
Only 1 dog per participant
Participants will be expected to maintain effective control of their dog at all times.
All dogs must be on leads at all times (retractable leads are fine)
Dogs will need to be well socialised and in a healthy enough condition to participate. No female dogs on heat please.
There will be water for dogs and humans at the top of the climb.
Human/dog retire policy – If you, your dog or another participate is unable to finish the walk please call out patrol on 0508 727 572
Please clean up after your dog. All participates must carry their own biodegradable dog poop bags at all times. Dog poop bags will not be provided.

Human Rules:
Minimum age for human participation is 13 years. Children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Age is as per age on race day.
You must wear your entry bracelet and be visible at all times.
At all times, obey instructions given to you by event officials and marshals.
Please note the uphill trail will be open to other walkers during the event. All bike tracks that are around the dog loop will be closed.
Please no bikes, wheelchairs or child prams.
Please no littering.
Those who willingly disobey dog/human rules and affect the health and safety of others will be disqualified and asked to leave.

Spots are limited so get in early and secure your place for a tail-wagging day out!
Entry Fee: $30 per participant (includes bracelet, Rollickin ice cream for human + dog, and dog snack
