Using a mathematical pattern of construction, the Bargello technique transforms carefully arranged strips of fabric into mesmerising designs that create the illusion of steps, waves and flowing curves. The results can be bold and dramatic or subtle and sophisticated, depending on your choice of fabrics and colours.
Have you always wanted to try Bargello but felt reluctant to commit to making a large quilt? Then this workshop is the perfect opportunity to give it a go! Working on a manageable project, you’ll learn how the technique works and see how simple strips of fabric can be transformed into a stunning design.
Your finished project will measure approximately 25 inches square, making it an ideal size for a small quilt. Alternatively, why not turn your creation into a beautiful cushion, decorative wall hanging or practical sewing machine cover? The choice is yours!
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is suitable for patchworkers who are confident using a rotary cutter and can stitch an accurate ¼-inch seam. Some previous patchwork experience is therefore essential.

Good to know:
The venue has parking. Upon arrival, park in the car park at the front of the shop. Unload your vehicle into your classroom. Staff will then advise you where to park your car for the day at the rear of the complex.
There is disabled parking and ramps allowing access to all areas. There is a disabled toilet.
Staff will help anyone in need of assistance. Shop on site selling an enormous range of goods relating to crafting: dressmaking, patchwork & quilting, knitting & crochet, sewing machines and furniture.
There is a coffee shop on site called O for Coffee. Attendees at our classes are visited by coffee shop staff regularly throughout the day to take any orders. Anything consumed during your day is sold at a 10% discount. As well as a large choice of hot and cold drinks, the menu comprises savoury choices including sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and soups. For those with a sweet tooth, there is a selection of cakes and scones made in-house with gluten-free and vegan options.
