About this Event
Barefoot Joel, a professional naturalist who has been barefooting since 2009, will serve as your mentor in this 3-part series that offers a step-by-step transitional process for you to enliven your senses from the ground up. Beginners welcome, even if you missed the first session.
This week we will move into part 2 of your barefoot journey, venturing into a secluded nature area where your feet will be exposed to a slightly more challenging decomposed granite trail that circulates through a vibrant tapestry of shrubs and trees supporting a diversity of wildlife, including migratory birds. We’ll walk at a slower pace to maximize observational opportunities and minimize discomfort. In this welcoming and supportive setting, we’ll celebrate the act of grounding ourselves while cultivating a deeper relationship with the plants and animals. Offered in collaboration with We Explore Earth.
DIFFICULTY: Easy. Mix of sun and shade. Minimal elevation gain. Flat trail. Less than a mile round-trip.
