Learning to trim your own horses empowers you to meet the needs of your equine when a farrier is unavailable or does not work well with your horse. Gain an understanding of how to support healthy hoof growth and the knowledge to recognize problems or negative changes in your horse's hooves.
Your horse depends on you to maintain an active life and their feet are key to both being sound and active as well as monitoring a healthy system.
This clinic is an introduction to natural hoof trimming and is not intended to replace the importance of good farrier services.
This clinic will not cover how to shoe your horse, but you will get to participate with trimming your horse and go home with a plan to develop that skill for your horse. Take-home reference sheets with topics covered and continuing education list will be provided, but please come prepared to take notes and photos.
Bring the following tools: Hoof nippers, hoof knife, hoof pick, hoof rasp.
Haul in your horse! This will provide hands on experience with the horse you will be trimming.

Adrienne Dymesich and her husband Isac have been trimming all the horses on their stud farm for over a decade. They sought out education initially to meet the needs of their horses when farrier services were lacking. After following the standard approach, they studied natural hoof trimming and complete equine lifestyle support. From cases of advanced founder, common thrush, and sudden abscess, to foal development, they have gained experience to address and prevent common hoof issues. As accomplished distance riders they are also experienced with developing strong barefoot athletes as well as recognizing when it is time to shoe the horse.
